PITTSVILLE VOLLEYBALL FINISHES 1-3 AT NEW LISBON INVITE

NEW LISBON – The Pittsville volleyball team competed at the New Lisbon Invitational on Saturday, finishing 1-3.


Pittsville lost to Alma Center 25-20, 25-8; Weston 25-21, 25-21; and New Lisbon 25-16, 25-20; before beating Pardeeville 25-14, 25-8.


The Panthers are now 5-12 overall this season.


Julia Redmond had 19 kills and 28 digs to lead Pittsville in both categories. Maddie Carpenter added 12 kills, Helen Durrant had a team-high 26 assists, and Bekah Downs had five service aces for the Panthers.


“We struggled all day, nothing was clicking for us,” Pittsville coach Buff Heller said. “Hopefully we can learn from our mistakes and continue to grow as a team.”


Pittsville will play a nonconference match at Greenwood on Tuesday.
