ALMOND – The Pittsville girls basketball team earned a big road win in the Central Wisconsin Conference South Division, pushing past Almond-Bancroft 35-32 on Thursday at Almond-Bancroft High School.


The win keeps the Panthers within a game of the conference leaders, Wild Rose and Stevens Point Pacelli, as they improve to 7-5 overall and 3-1 in the conference. Almond-Bancroft falls to 8-6 and 3-2 in the CWC South.


Reece Grimm had 12 points, Brynn Friday added 10, and Kristin Zdun had three 3-pointers to score nine for Pittsville.


Carlee Lamb topped A-B with nine points.


Both teams return to action with CWC South games on Tuesday against the two teams tied for the conference lead. Almond-Bancroft will play at Stevens Point Pacelli and Pittsville hosts Wild Rose. Wild Rose and Pacelli are tied at 4-0 atop the conference standings.
