EDGAR'S TOM McCARTY STEPS DOWN AS GIRLS BASKETBALL COACH
SPORTSDESK - Edgar girls basketball coach Tom McCarty announced his resignation as head coach on Thursday. During his three years as coach McCarty compiled a 56-24 record that included a regional championship every season.
From McCarty:
"After careful consideration, I have decided to step down as the varsity girls' basketball coach in order to be more present for my young family and devote more time to the always busy role of Principal at Edgar MS/HS.

While I loved leading the program, it became increasingly hard to manage the many different priorities in my life so it was time to take a step back. I am incredibly proud of our accomplishments over the last three years and am confident that a strong foundation exists for a new coach to come be successful right away. I am forever grateful to the players, the district staff, our parents, and the Edgar community for their support over the last three years. The search for a replacement has already started and any interested candidates are encouraged to apply. Go Cats Go!"
