EDGAR FOOTBALL SLAMS IOLA-SCANDINAVIA IN WIAA DIVISION 7 LEVEL 1 PLAYOFF GAME

EDGAR – The Edgar football team dominated Iola-Scandinavia in an early-season matchup and Friday’s WIAA Division 7 Level 1 playoff game wasn’t much different.
The Wildcats pulled out to a three-touchdown lead by halftime and rolled to a 33-13 victory on Friday at Edgar High School.
The No. 4 seed Edgar (10-3) will travel to No. 1 seed Hurley (12-0) for a Level 2 game on Friday, Oct. 29. This is also a rematch of a nonconference game from earlier this season and Hurley won 22-20 in overtime back on Sept. 24.
Mattiwon Butt threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to Everet Brehm and Ayden Weisenberger added a 5-yard score to give Edgar at 12-0 lead after one quarter.
The Wildcats pushed it to 18-0 by halftime after a 5-yard score from Karter Butt, then extended the lead to 33-0 in the third as Brehm returned a punt 48 yards for a touchdown and Weisenberger found paydirt again from 37 yards out.
Iola-Scandinavia scored a pair of touchdowns late.
Weisenberger finished with 95 rushing yards as the Wildcats had 182 overall.
