COLBY FOOTBALL DOMINATES THORP

COLBY – The Colby football team started its 2020 season, and its move to the Marawood Conference, with a bang, rolling past Thorp 54-6 on Friday night at Colby High School.

Mason Voss had an 11-yard touchdown run and quarterback Brent Jeske added a 19-yard TD to give Colby a quick 16-0 lead after one quarter.

The Hornets kept pouring on, scoring three touchdowns in the second quarter, and had three more scores in the third.

Voss, Jeske, Mateo Lopez and Isaac Raatz had touchdown runs, Jeske threw a 46-yard scoring pass to Brody Decker, and Derek Jeske returned a fumble 46 yards for a score as Colby cruised to the win.

Colby outgained Thorp 374-94, holding the Cardinals to just seven first downs, 7-for-24 passing, and a little more than two yards per play.

Colby will be at Hurley in a nonconference game, and Thorp hosts Abbotsford next Friday, Oct. 2, in Marawood Conference action.
