SPASH COMPETES IN SEVEN EVENTS AT WIAA STATE BOYS SWIMMING MEET

WAUKESHA – Stevens Point Area Senior High had five swimmers compete in seven events at the 2022 WIAA Division 1 State Boys Swimming & Diving Championships on Saturday at Waukesha South High School.
The top individual finish for Stevens Point came from Cade Casey, who finished seventh in the 100-yard backstroke in 51.03 seconds.
Casey also finished 15th in the 50 freestyle (21.71) and was part of two relay teams that competed as well.
Casey, Kyle Franz, Will Gargulak and Keegan McKinley-Chapin took 16th in the 200 medley relay (1:39.44), and Casey, Gargulak, Franz and Konnor Pilger finished 19th in the 400 freestyle relay (3:19.86).
Pilger had a 10th-place finish in the 500 freestyel (4:43.43) and took 17th in the 200 freestyle (1:44.90), and Gargulak ended up 22nd in the 100 butterfly (53.63) as well for Stevens Point.
Brookfield Central/East won the team title with 208 points, ahead of Hartland Arrowhead (188) and Madison West (182).
