SCHILL TOSSES PERFECT GAME AS ASSUMPTION SOFTBALL BLANKS MARATHON

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Ava Schill threw a six-inning perfect game and the Assumption softball team remained undefeated with an 11-0 shutout of Marathon in a Marawood Conference South Division game Monday at Robinson Park.
Schill struck out seven and did not allow a baserunner for the Royals, who are now 8-0 and 6-0 in the conference. Marathon falls to 2-9 and 2-4 in the Marawood South.
Assumption scored four runs in the third inning and added three more in the fourth to pull away.
Anna Schooley had a single, a home run and five RBI to pace the Royals. Cristin Casey, Ava Schill and Lydia Smith all added two hits in the win.
The two teams meet again Thursday at Marathon.
