ROSHOLT GIRLS BASKETBALL EARNS CWC SOUTH WIN OVER PORT EDWARDS

ROSHOLT – The Rosholt girls basketball team pulled away in the second half to defeat Port Edwards 47-36 in a Central Wisconsin Conference South Division game Thursday at Rosholt High School.


Rosholt led 15-13 after a back-and-forth first half before opening up its lead in the second half and finished off its fourth win of the season.


Bridget Lemanczyk, Sarah Trzinski and Lily Lorbiecki each scored 10 points for Rosholt (4-12, 3-6 CWC South).


Melanie Sillars had 16 points and Taylor Martin added 14 for Port Edwards (3-14, 0-9 CWC South), which was held to nine made baskets during the game and went 14-for-30 at the free throw line.


Both teams return to action Saturday. Port Edwards will play a nonconference game at New Lisbon and Rosholt will travel to Stevens Point Pacelli for a CWC South contest. Both games start at 1 p.m.
