PLOVER LEGION BASEBALL EARNS WALK-OFF WIN OVER HUDSON

PLOVER – Plover rallied with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to earn a walk-off 1-0 win over Hudson in American Legion baseball action Thursday at Memorial Park.
Lucca Weinkauf walked with two outs, Brycen Cashin followed with a single and Tommy Drohner drove in Weinkauf with the game’s only run to give the Black Sox their fifth-straight victory.
Kenny Schultz went the distance for Plover, striking out nine, walking two and allowing just two singles, both to Hudson leadoff hitter Wylie Baumer.
Cashin and Drohner each finished with two hits for the Black Sox.
Plover hosts Sheboygan at 8 p.m. Friday to open play in its home tournament. The Black Sox will take on Superior at 5:30 p.m. and Watertown at 8 p.m. on Saturday.
