MERRILL – The Plover Black Sox American Legion baseball team scored in all five of its at-bats, including a combined 13 runs in the fourth and fifth innings, to roll past Merrill 20-2 in a Wisconsin Valley Legion League game Tuesday night at Athletic Park.
The Black Sox (3-3) pounded out 17 hits in the 10-run rule shortened contest, with Jon Nafe finishing 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI, and Jake Sankey adding three singles, two RBI and three runs scored.
Jackson Fox added two hits and three RBI, Brycen Cashin had two hits and four RBI, and Kaden Thauer had a double and drove in three in the victory for Plover.
The Black Sox will play at Stevens Point on Wednesday. The game will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Bukolt Park and will be broadcast live at zaleskisports.com.
