PHILLIPS EDGES ASSUMPTION GIRLS BASKETBALL IN BATTLE OF UNBEATENS

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Phillips handed the Wisconsin Rapids Assumption girls basketball team its first loss of the season, earning a hard-fought 56-53 win in a Marawood Conference crossover game Friday night at Assumption High School.


Phillips improves to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the Marawood North, while Assumption falls to 5-1 and 2-1 in the Marawood South.


Ainara Sainz de Rozas had 14 points and Izzy Jungwirth added 10 for the Royals.


Assumption will play a Marawood South game at Edgar on Tuesday.
