COLBY – The Colby girls basketball team kept pace with the Cloverbelt Conference East Division leaders with a 73-55 win over Owen-Withee on Thursday night at Colby High School.


Colby improves to 10-4 overall and 8-2 in the Cloverbelt East, remaining one-half game behind co-leaders Neillsville and Loyal in the standings.


Emma Peavey had 17 of her team-high 26 points in the first half, and Hailey Voelker scored 15 of her 23 points in the second half for the Hornets.


Colby made 26 of 37 free throws in the win, offsetting 29 points from Owen-Withee’s Brianna Simington.


Colby hosts Gilman on Tuesday.
