NEILLSVILLE BOYS, LOYAL GIRLS WIN TITLES AT SPENCER TRACK INVITE

SPENCER – The Neillsville boys and Loyal girls earned the team titles at the Brian Pickett Track & Field Invitational on Tuesday at Spencer High School.


Neillsville won the boys team championship with nine event wins and 207 points, with Auburndale second with 146, Spencer third with 89.5, Greenwood fourth with 57, Columbus Catholic fifth with 42, and Loyal seventh with 37.


Loyal won seven events on its way to the girls team title with 189 points. Neillsville was second with 132.5, Auburndale fourth with 66.5, Greenwood fifth with 45, Columbus Catholic sixth with 30 and Spencer seventh with 28.


Taytor Lowry and Asten Schultz were double-winners for the Neillsville boys. Lowry won the 400 meters in 51.93 seconds and the 800 in 2:08.93, and Schultz took first in the high jump (5 feet, 8 inches) and the triple jump (39-3).


Other winners for the Neillsville boys were Landon Kummer in the 110 hurdles (16.81), Mason Roenz in the shot put (47-8.5), Ian Zoschke in the long jump (18-2.25), and the 400 (48.70) and 800 (1:42.47) relay teams.


Terrance Roberson won a pair of races to lead the Auburndale boys. He took first in the 100 in 10.93 and the 200 in 22.50 seconds.


The Auburndale boys also picked up wins from the 1,600 relay team of Ian Grosskopf, Charles Jewell, Adam Kundinger and Alex Mikes (3:46.70) and Jesse Fowler in the discus (146-10).


Andrew Scheer won the 1,600 in 4:45.70 and the 3,200 in 10:18.01 to continue his solid season for Columbus Catholic.


The Loyal girls won three relays – the 400 in 52.32, the 800 in 1:54.09 and the 1,600 in 4:31.33 – and picked up four individual titles as well. Maci Bogdonovich won the 800 in 2:48.60, Alyssia Zvolena took first in the high jump (5-1), Sheila Tellock was first in the pole vault (8-60 and Abrial Kubista won the triple jump (32-10).


Spencer earned a pair of wins as Kyle Nieman won the boys pole vault with a vault of 11 feet, and Emily Wehrman took first in the girls 1,600 in 6:40.64.


Julia Seekamp earned the Auburndale girls lone victory as she won the 100-meter hurdles in 17.70 seconds.


The Neillsville girls had two wins as Kayleigh Kubisiak won the 400 in 1:05.62 and the 3,200 relay team own in 14:11.80.


Greenwood had wins by Ashtin Palms in the boys 300 hurdles (43.84), the boys 3,200 relay team (11:28.72), and Katlund Etlicher in the girls 3,200 (16;06.30).
