NEENAH – Neenah pulled out to a double-digit lead by halftime but had to hold off a late rally to defeat Stevens Point 64-58 in a WIAA Division 1 girls basketball regional semifinal Friday night at Neenah High School.

No. 4 seed Neenah (20-5) will host a D-1 regional final Saturday night against Wisconsin Valley Conference champion and No. 5 seed Wausau West at 7 p.m. West defeated Oshkosh West 60-43 on Friday.

The Rockets led 36-25 at halftime before Stevens Point (10-15) rallied, but came up short.

“The girls’ played a great game,” Stevens Point coach Kraig Terpstra said. “We had them on the ropes. They made runs and responded each time. Unfortunately, it is the last game for a great group of seniors in (Kendra) Czerneski, (Zoe) Fink, (Morgan) Netzinger and Raikowski. They will be missed but their contributions to the program will not be forgotten."

Emma Jossie had 25 points, Zoe Fink added 19, and Avery Lilly had 12 for Stevens Point.
