OWEN – The Columbus Catholic softball team took advantage of 15 walks and seven Owen-Withee errors to defeat the Blackhawks 17-5 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Tuesday at Owen-Withee High School.


Cierra Dieringer and Sam Casperson each scored four runs, Hailey Zimmermann had a double and four RBI, and Mattea Schalfke had two hits and an RBI for the Dons, who are now 7-7 overall and 4-4 in the Cloverbelt East.


Alyssa Garski and Sydney Halida each had two hits for Owen-Withee (1-12, 1-9 Cloverbelt East).


Columbus Catholic will play at Gilman on Thursday.
