COLUMBUS CATHOLIC SOCCER BLANKS AMHERST IN 2020 OPENER

AMHERST – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic soccer team opened up its 2020 season with a 2-0 shutout win over Amherst on Thursday at Amherst High School.
Kellen Delaney scored at the 13:10 mark of the first half and Grant Olson added a goal with 12½ minutes remaining to finish off the victory.
Wyatt Drexler had 14 saves in goal for the Dons.
Thursday’s game was a nonconference match as the Central Wisconsin Conference rivals will play again in a conference match in Marshfield next Thursday, Sept. 24.
Columbus Catholic will play a nonconference game at Mosinee on Saturday.
