COLUMBUS CATHOLIC BOYS, MOSINEE GIRLS BASKETBALL HIGHLIGHT BROADCAST SCHEDULE
SPORTSDESK - With the Christmas and New Year festivities now behind us, we have finished the halftime break of winter high school sports. January will bring, for some teams, a clear picture of expectations - some good and some not so good. January also brings with it an opportunity for improvement and time to climb conference standings and prepare for a February postseason run.
It all starts this week on Zaleski Sports, headlined by Columbus Catholic boys basketball and Mosinee girls basketball.
Columbus Catholic (8-1, 3-0), the number one ranked boys basketball team in D5, experienced its first loss of the season last week to D4 St Mary's Springs (3-3) of Fond du Lac. The Ledgers outscored the Dons 38-26 in the second half to take the five-point victory. Columbus Catholic moves back into conference play this week with games against Greenwood (3-6) and Loyal (3-4). A January must see for Columbus Catholic is at home January 13th vs current Cloverbelt East conference co-leader Neillsville (7-2, 5-0).
The Mosinee girls have been perfect to start the season with an impressive 12-0 start. The Indians put an exclamation on 2021 with an Auburndale Holiday Classic tournament championship dealing Neillsville its first loss of the year 53-50 and handing Auburndale its second loss of the season 61-46. Only six January games on the schedule for Mosinee after packing the schedule full in November and December so see them while you can.
