BIG FIRST INNING PUSHES ABBOTSFORD/COLBY BASEBALL PAST ASSUMPTION

ABBOTSFORD – Abbotsford/Colby scored six times in the bottom of the first inning and the Falcons’ pitching did the rest as they defeated Assumption 8-2 in a nonconference baseball game Friday at Red Arrow Park.
Mateo Lopez allowed two runs in six innings with eight strikeouts to earn the win for the Falcons (13-7).
Payton Schreiber was 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead Abbotsford/Colby.
Connor Peters had two hits, including a double, and Aaron Livernash had an RBI for Assumption (3-10).
Assumption returns to action Monday with a nonconference game at Witter Field against Nekoosa. First pitch will be at 4:30 p.m. and the game will be broadcast at zaleskisports.com.
Abbotsford/Colby is off until Thursday when it will play a nonconference game at Thorp.
