ATHENS BOYS BASKETBALL ROUGHS UP ABBOTSFORD

ATHENS – The Athens boys basketball team rolled out to a 32-point lead by halftime and cruised past Abbotsford 77-35 in a Marawood Conference North Division game Tuesday night at Athens High School.
The Bluejays led 52-20 at halftime on their way to the rout and improve to 13-3 overall and 7-3 in the Marawood North this season.
Cooper Diedrich and Kody Lepak had double-doubles for Athens, with Diedrich finishing with 16 points and 14 rebounds, and Lepak scoring 22 points while grabbing 10 boards.
Aiden Janke added 12 points and Nathan Wolf scored 11 for the Bluejays.
Abbotsford (3-13, 1-10 Marawood North) plays a nonconference game at Loyal on Thursday. Athens returns to action Friday with a Marawood Conference crossover game at Edgar.
