WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Assumption held Phillips to eight first-half points and cruised to a 59-23 win in a Marawood Conference crossover game Thursday night at Assumption High School.
Assumption bolted out to a 26-8 by intermission and outscored the Loggers (0-2 overall and Marawood Conference North Division) by 18 in the second half to roll to the victory.
Ryan Shaw scored 16 points and Frank Matott added 12 to lead the Royals (2-2, 1-1 Marawood South), which had 12 different players score in the victory.
Assumption will enjoy some time off before traveling to Park Falls on Friday, Dec. 10, to play Chequamegon in another Marawood crossover matchup.
