WITTENBERG-BIRNAMWOOD FOOTBALL PILES UP OVER 600 YARDS, CRUISES PAST IOLA-SCANDINAVIA

WITTENBERG – Wittenberg-Birnamwood racked up more than 600 yards of offense and dominated Iola-Scandinavia, rolling to a 47-16 victory on Saturday in a nonconference football game at Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School.


Ben Wesolowski threw for 247 yards and five touchdowns, three to Luke Muscha and two to Kaden Schmidt. He also ran for 207 yards for the Chargers (2-0).


Iola-Scandinavia was held to 113 total yards, while the Thunderbirds (1-1) allowed 624 yards.


Parker Prahl had a touchdown run and a TD pass to Will Tappa to account for Iola-Scandinavia’s scoring plays. The Thunderbirds also had a safety at the end of the first quarter.


Wittenberg-Birnamwood opens its Central Wisconsin Conference Large Division schedule Friday at home against Spencer/Columbus. Iola-Scandinavia plays a nonconference game at Edgar on Friday.
