WISCONSIN RAPIDS LEGION BASEBALL EDGES STEVENS POINT
Zaleski Sports
WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Wisconsin Rapids scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning thanks to some wild pitching by Stevens Point and downed the Sixers 5-4 in a Wisconsin Valley Legion League game Thursday night at Witter Field.
Stevens Point led 2-1 heading in the sixth when the Raiders rallied, essentially without having to hit the ball.
A leadoff walk was followed by a single by Austin Junemann, which was the only hit of the inning.
After a groundout, four batters in a row were hit by pitches and Potter had a bases-loaded walk to push across four runs to give the Rangers (5-1) a 5-2 lead.
Stevens Point scored twice in the top of the seventh before Tyler Beyer was able to finish off the win. He struck out nine in a complete-game effort for Rapids.
