SHEBOYGAN – The Plover Legion baseball team came back from an early deficit but couldn’t hold on and dropped a 15-11 decision to Viroqua in the final game of the Sheboygan Tournament on Sunday.
Plover finishes the tournament with a 4-1 record and moves to 13-5 overall this summer.
Each team exchanged four runs in the opening inning before Viroqua opened up an 8-4 lead.
Plover responded with five runs in the bottom of the third to take a one-run lead, only to see Viroqua scored four times in the fourth and three times in the sixth to pull away.
Jackson Fox and Jon Nafe each drove in three runs for the Black Sox.
Plover returns to Wisconsin Valley Legion League play Monday at Stevens Point. The game will be at Bukolt Park starting at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on zaleskisports.com.
