SUSSEX HAMILTON SQUEAKS OUT WIN OVER STEVENS POINT FOOTBALL

SUSSEX – Logan Quella threw for two touchdowns late, including one for 91 yards, to lift Sussex Hamilton to a come-from-behind 28-20 win over Stevens Point in a nonconference football game Friday night at Hamilton High School.


Riley Warzynski threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Danny Zdroik and Braylon Smola ran in from the 10 to help Stevens Point forge a 14-14 tie at halftime.


Colby Hintz caught an 11-yard TD pass from Noah Marschke to put the Panthers on top 20-14 in the third quarter before the Chargers came back.


Quella hit Rocco Orlando for a 9-yard score and Isaiah Gibson hauled in the 91-yard touchdown as the Chargers held SPASH scoreless in the fourth quarter to finish off the victory. Quella finished 18-for-28 for 307 yards passing and three touchdowns.


Jaybreal Palbrach had 124 yards rushing to lead the SPASH offense.


Stevens Point (5-3) plays its regular-season and Valley Football Association finale at Marshfield on Oct. 15 looking to win at least a share of the conference title with a victory. The game will be live at zaleskisports.com.
