RHINELANDER DOUBLES UP MOSINEE IN GNC BOYS HOCKEY ACTION

MOSINEE – Rhinelander scored three times in the third period to push past Mosinee 6-3 in a Great Northern Conference boys hockey game Tuesday at the Mosinee Recreation Center.


Rhinelander improves to 13-4 overall and remains in first place in the Great Northern Conference at 7-1, while Mosinee falls to 11-8 overall and 4-2 in conference play.


Mosinee fought back from a 3-0 deficit to close to within one after goals by Ondrej Napravnik and Grant Kuklinski in the second period.

After Rhinelander scored early in the third, A.J. Buenning responded with a goal for Mosinee to keep it close, but the Hodags were able to pull away on goals by Leo Losch and Joey Belanger.


Aiden Karst had 18 saves in goal for the Indians.


Mosinee travels to Marshfield for a nonconference game Thursday. The game starts at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast live at zaleskisports.com.
