PITTSVILLE – The Pittsville volleyball team earned a hard-fought 3-2 win over Rib Lake in a nonconference match Thursday night at Pittsville High School.


The Panthers won 25-27, 25-22, 25-19, 17-25, 15-12, to improve to 3-8 overall this season.


“It was a fun match to play, coach and watch,” Pittsville coach Buff Heller said. “Two even teams and we stood tall to the finish. I hope people are noticing our improvements. It was a great match to lead into conference play.”


Julia Redmond had eight kills and six digs, Cammie Reno added six kills, Helen Durrant had 18 assists, and Jocie Buchli had nine digs for Pittsville.


Pittsville opens Central Wisconsin Conference action Tuesday at Rosholt.
