PACELLI, AUBURNDALE BOYS, ASSUMPTION GIRLS EARN SPOTS AT STATE CROSS COUNTRY MEET

WEYAUWEGA – Numerous area athletes will be represented at next week’s state meet, including the Stevens Point Pacelli and Auburndale boys, and Wisconsin Rapids Assumption girls after competition at the WIAA Division 3 cross county sectional on Saturday at Weyauwega-Fremont High School.


The Pacelli boys won the sectional title with 59 points, with Auburndale second with 93 to advance as a team to the 2021 WIAA State Cross Country Championships next Saturday, Oct. 30, at Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids.


Weyauwega-Fremont was first with 56 points and Assumption second with 59 in the girls standings to also advance.


The top two teams and top five individuals not on those teams move on to the state meet. The Division 3 boys race will be at 1:10 p.m. and the girls race will be at 3:05 p.m.
