NEILLSVILLE GIRLS BASKETBALL BLOWS PAST OSSEO-FAIRCHILD IN CLOVERBELT CROSSOVER FIRST-PLACE GAME

OSSEO – The Neillsville girls basketball team finished off its regular-season schedule with a 56-40 win over Osseo-Fairchild in the first-place game of the Cloverbelt Conference crossovers on Saturday at Osseo-Fairchild High School.
Paris Opelt scored 24 of her game-high 31 points in the first half as Neillsville built a 37-25 lead.
The Warriors finished off the win by allowing just 15 second-half points and end the regular season with a 22-2 record.
Emma Moseley added 10 points in the win for Neillsville.
Taylor Gunderson led Osseo-Fairchild (22-2) with 11 points.
Both teams will open postseason play with WIAA Division 4 regional semifinals on Friday, Feb. 25, as part of the same Sectional 1 bracket. Osseo-Fairchild is the No. 1 seed and will host the winner of Eau Claire Regis and Whitehall, and Neillsville is the No. 2 seed and will be at home against the winner of Plum City/Elmwood and Mondovi.
