NEILLSVILLE BOYS BASKETBALL SLIPS PAST OWEN-WITHEE

NEILLSVILLE – Neillsville overcame a five-point halftime deficit and went on to defeat Owen-Withee 59-55 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division boys basketball game Tuesday at Neillsville High School.


Owen-Withee led 33-27 at halftime before the Warriors dominated the second half 32-22 to pull out the victory and remain in first place in the conference.


Neillsville is now 10-2 overall and remains undefeated in the Cloverbelt East at 7-0. Owen-Withee falls to 6-8 and 4-4 in the conference.


Andrew Brown had 20 points, and Mason Roenz and Bryce Erickson both chipped in 11 for the Warriors.


Caleb Geldnerick led Owen-Withee with 19 points.


Both teams return to Cloverbelt East action Friday. Neillsville plays at Gilman and Owen-Withee hosts Colby.
