MOSINEE GIRLS BASKETBALL WHIPS NEW LONDON TO TAKE DIVISION 2 REGIONAL FINAL

MOSINEE – The top-seeded Mosinee girls basketball team took care of business from the start, using a dominant first half in a 54-30 win over New London in a WIAA Division 2 regional final Saturday night at Mosinee High School.
Mosinee (25-1) will play No. 2 seed Lakeland (18-8) in a Division 2 sectional semifinal Thursday at a site to be determined. The game will be broadcast live at zaleskisports.com.
Mosinee rolled out to a 30-16 lead by halftime and finished off the victory with a 10-point advantage in the second half.
Kate Fitzgerald scored 22 points and Jenna Placek added 10 for Mosinee in the win.
Kenna Mix led New London (13-11) with 10 points.
