LOYAL GIRLS BASKETBALL DOMINATES PITTSVILLE TO WIN DIVISION 5 REGIONAL QUARTERFINAL

LOYAL – The Loyal girls basketball team held Pittsville to just three made baskets and pounded the Panthers, winning 48-11 in a WIAA Division 5 regional quarterfinal Wednesday at Loyal High School.

No. 8 seed Loyal (11-14) moves on to a D-5 regional semifinal at No. 1 seed Bangor (23-2) on Friday at 7 p.m. Pittsville finishes its season 12-12.

Pittsville made just 3 of 38 shots from the field and were 4-for-10 at the free throw line in the loss.

Loyal led 20-6 by halftime and outscored the Panthers by 23 points in the second half to finish off the victory.

Alyssia Zvolena had 14 points and Natasha Tellock chipped in 10 for the Greyhounds.
