IOLA – Iola-Scandinavia snapped a two-game losing skid with a dominating 42-0 win over Loyal in a Central Wisconsin Conference Small Division football game Friday night at Iola-Scandinavia High School.

The Thunderbirds are now 2-2 overall and 1-0 in the CWC Small. Loyal falls to 1-2 and 1-1 in conference play.

Parker Prahl threw three touchdowns in the first half, two to Will Tappa and another to Jayden Singh for Iola-Scandinavia. Isaiah Hoyord added two touchdown runs of 11 and 5 yards as I-S took a 34-0 lead going into halftime.

Hoyord had a 2-yard TD run in the third quarter to start a running clock for the T-Birds, and finish off the scoring for the game.

Hoyord finished with 191 yards rushing and Prahl had 86 yards passing with all three of his completions ending in touchdowns.

The Thunderbirds’ defense was just as good as the offense, holding Loyal to just 103 yards and forcing three turnovers.

Iola-Scandinavia will play at Wisconsin Rapids Assumption next Friday, Sept. 17, at 7 p.m. The game will be live at zaleskisports.com. Loyal will host Wild Rose on Sept. 17.
