GRIMM PITCHES PITTSVILLE BASEBALL PAST ASSUMPTION IN D-4 REGIONAL QUARTERFINAL

Zaleski Sports
PITTSVILLE – Noah Grimm tossed a complete-game three-hitter to help push the Pittsville baseball team to a 3-1 win over Wisconsin Rapids Assumption in a WIAA Division 4 regional quarterfinal Thursday at Pittsville High School.
Assumption (4-12) scored a run in the top of third on an RBI single by Jack Klatt, but that would be all it would get against Grimm, who struck out 11 and walked just one for the Panthers.
Evan Haley, Grimm and Marcus Getsinger had RBI for Pittsville, which scored single tallies in the third, fifth and sixth innings.
No. 3 seed Pittsville (17-6) will travel to No. 2 seed Marion (16-1) for a D-4 regional semifinal Tuesday.
