EDGAR VOLLEYBALL EARNS FIVE-SET WIN OVER ATHENS TO CLAIM DIVISION 4 REGIONAL TITLE

ATHENS – The Edgar volleyball team held off a comeback attempt to defeat Athens 3-2 in a WIAA Division 4 regional final Saturday night at Athens High School.

Edgar won the first two sets 25-23, 25-23, before Athens turned the tables with 25-12, 25-21, wins to even the match. The Wildcats pulled away in the fifth and decisive set to win 15-9 and claim the regional title.

The No. 3 seed Edgar will play a Division 4 sectional semifinal at No. 1 seed Marshfield Columbus Catholic on Thursday at 7 p.m.
