MARSHFIELD – Alex Edwards had a pair of goals and the Marshfield Columbus Catholic soccer team rolled to a 5-0 win over Stevens Point Pacelli in a nonconference match Tuesday at Griese Park.


Edwards scored at the 30:03 mark for the first half’s lone goal before the Dons turned it up in the second half.


Sammy Neville scored 22 minutes into the second half and Columbus poured in three goals in the final six minutes to finish off the win.


Kellen Delaney, who assisted on the first two goals, had a goal, and Edwards and Grant Olson scored to make it 5-0.


Wyatt Drexler only had to make two saves in goal as the Dons outshot Pacelli 43-5.

Columbus Catholic improves to 3-1 and will host Amherst at 5 p.m. Thursday at Griese Park in its Central Wisconsin Conference opener.


Columbus lost a nonconference game at Medford on Monday, 2-1.


Olson scored the Dons’ only goal, on an assist from Delaney, 11:35 into the game. Medford scored two goals in the next five minutes and that was all the scoring in the game.
