COLBY BOYS BASKETBALL DOWNS ABBOTSFORD IN DIVISION 4 REGIONAL QUARTERFINAL

COLBY – The No. 5 seed Colby boys basketball team used a 16-point first-half advantage to defeat No. 12 Abbotsford 82-64 in a WIAA Division 4 regional quarterfinal on Tuesday at Colby High School.


Richard Streveler had 12 points, Tucker had nine and Kaden Wiese eight in the first half as the Hornets built a 43-27 lead.


Streveler finished with a game-high 26 points, Meyer added 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Weise had 12 points in the victory for Colby.


Brandon Hawkey had 18 points, Brandon Diedrich scored 15, and Adam Diedrich added 14 for Abbotsford, which finishes its season with a 4-21 record.


Colby moves on to a Division 4 regional semifinal at No. 4 seed Auburndale (17-8) at 7 p.m. Friday.
