CASHIN, PACELLI FOOTBALL RUN PAST ASSUMPTION

STEVENS POINT – Stevens Point Pacelli’s wrecking ball, senior running back Brycen Cashin, continued his ways on Friday night at the Cardinals defeated Wisconsin Rapids Assumption 49-20 in a Central Wisconsin Conference Small Division football game at Goerke Field.
Cashin accumulated 411 total yards of offense and scored five touchdowns for Pacelli, which remains undefeated at 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the CWC Small.
Cashin scored on touchdown runs of 79 and 1 yards in the first half, added scoring runs of 2 and 45 yards in the second half, and had a 59-yard touchdown catch from Drew Kedrowicz as well for the Cardinals. He finished with 344 rushing yards and caught two passes for 67 yards in the win.
Manny Schultz had 137 yards rushing and two touchdowns, and Jack Klatt threw a 9-yard TD pass to Ryan Shaw to account for the Royals’ scoring. Assumption is now 2-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
Nick Schroeder added 70 yards rushing and two scores for Pacelli.
Pacelli will play a nonconference game at Unity, while Assumption hosts Iola-Scandinavia in a CWC Small game next Friday, Sept. 17. The Assumption game will be live at zaleskisports.com starting at 7 p.m.
