ATHENS – Addison Lavicka scored 14 points and Celina Ellenbecker drilled four 3-pointers to add 12 points as the Athens girls basketball team blasted Prentice 57-34 in the Marawood Conference North Division opener for both teams on Thursday at Athens High School.


Sophia Coker added eight points, five rebounds and five steals for the Bluejays, who improve to 2-0 overall this season.


Athens plays a Marawood North game at Abbotsford on Tuesday.
