APPLETON – Appleton West scored 56 second-half points to pull away and defeat Wisconsin Rapids 92-59 in a nonconference boys basketball game to open the season on Tuesday night at Appleton West High School.
West led 36-25 at halftime before pulling away with a strong second half.
Mikail Harmison scored 23 points and Bomani Hooper added 12 for the Terrors.
Cade Jungwirth scored 31 points for Wisconsin Rapids, which had eight players score in all.
Wisconsin Rapids plays Melrose-Mindoro on Friday at 2:40 p.m. and an opponent to be determined on Saturday at Just-A-Game Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells.
