ALMOND-BANCROFT GIRLS BASKETBALL PULLS AWAY IN SECOND HALF TO BEAT PORT EDWARDS

ALMOND – Almond-Bancroft used a 7-0 run midway through the second half to pull past Port Edwards 31-18 in a Central Wisconsin Conference South Division girls basketball game Thursday at Almond-Bancroft High School.
The game was tied at 12-12 at halftime and the Eagles led 16-15 with about 10 minutes to go in the game before using the run to take command.
Almond-Bancroft (10-7, 4-3 Central Wisconsin Conference South Division) held Port Edwards (2-11, 0-6 CWC South) to just two made baskets in the second half, both 3-pointers.
Nakita Borths scored six points to lead the Blackhawks.
Port Edwards plays a conference game at Stevens Point Pacelli on Tuesday.
