ADAMS-FRIENSHIP BASEBALL USES BIG MIDDLE INNINGS TO GET PAST ABBOTSFORD/COLBY

ADAMS-FRIENDSHIP – In a nonconference baseball battle on Thursday night the Adams-Friendship Green Devils pulled off a big win over Abbotsford/Colby, 12-6.
Both teams scored runs in the first inning and the Green Devils led 3-1 going into the second. Abby/Colby scored two runs in the second and third to take a 5-3 lead.
In the bottom of the third, Adams-Friendship scored three runs to take a 6-5 lead and never looked back. The Green Devils scored two more runs in the fourth and four more runs in the fifth. Abby/Colby sandwiched a single run in between Adams-Friendship rally in the fifth but were quieted in the sixth and seventh.
Abby/Colby was led at the plate by JV Castillo, who finished with two RBI and drew three walks. Brandon Diedrich took the loss on the mound going four innings, giving up six hits and eight runs (only four were earned) as well as striking out five. Abby/Colby drops to 3-3 on the season and will host Chequamegon on Monday at 1 p.m.
Adams-Friendship improves to 5-1 on the season and is scheduled to play at Pacelli on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
