WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids girls basketball team earned a much-needed Wisconsin Valley Conference victory on Tuesday as it defeated D.C. Everest 87-58 at Lincoln High School.


Megan Clary scored 25 points to lead four Raiders in double figures. Ella Bruns added 15 points, nine steals and seven rebounds, Avery Brise hit four 3-pointers and scored 12, and Chelsea King also chipped in 12 for Wisconsin Rapids.


The win keeps Wisconsin Rapids (12-8, 9-1 Wisconsin Valley Conference) in the conference championship chase as it remains one game behind first-place Wausau West. The two teams play in the final game of the season Feb. 17 at Wisconsin Rapids.


Kiara Hammond scored 26 points and Braelyn Beiler added 17 for D.C. Everest (8-14, 3-8 WVC).


Wisconsin Rapids plays a nonconference game at Mosinee on Thursday. The game will be live-streamed at zaleskisports.com.
