WILD ROSE GIRLS BASKETBALL FINISHES OFF CWC SOUTH TITLE WITH TIGHT WIN OVER PACELLI

STEVENS POINT – The Wild Rose girls basketball team held off Stevens Point Pacelli in the final minutes to win 48-41 in the final regular season game for both teams on Thursday at Pacelli High School.
Pacelli came into the game with a chance to tie Wild Rose for the Central Wisconsin Conference South Division title, but the Wildcats were able to pull out the victory behind 29 points from Laney Havlovitz.
Havlovitz made four 3-pointers and went 7-for-10 at the free throw line for Wild Rose, which won its 18th-straight game and finishes the regular season with a 20-1 record and a perfect 12-0 in the CWC South.
Kaylin Yenter had 11 of her 15 points in the second half for Pacelli, which were within a basket in the final minute but couldn’t score and Wild Rose put the game away at the free throw line.
Pacelli finishes 13-10 overall and 10-2 in the CWC South.
Both teams host WIAA Division 5 regional quarterfinals on Tuesday – Wild Rose against Tri-County and Pacelli vs. Almond-Bancroft.
