VIROQUA SHUTS OUT WISCONSIN VALLEY UNION IN GIRLS HOCKEY OPENER

VIROQUA – The Wisconsin Valley Union girls hockey team, a co-op of teams from Marshfield, Stevens Point, Wisconsin Rapids and Waupaca, lost its season opener to Viroqua 5-0 on Saturday at the Viroqua Community Arena.


Leonie Boettcher scored four of Viroqua’s five goals in the victory.


Madison Wagner-Durr made 23 saves in goal for Wisconsin Valley.


Wisconsin Valley plays at Rhinelander against the Northern Edge (Antigo-Rhinelander co-op) on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
