TOP-SEED MOSINEE FOOTBALL DOMINATES HAYWARD/LAC COURTE OREILLES IN DIVISION 3 PLAYOFF

MOSINEE – No. 1 seed Mosinee had no problems with Great Northern Conference rival Hayward/Lac Courte Oreilles, rolling to a 43-8 in a WIAA Division 3 football Level 1 playoff game on Friday night at Mosinee.

Mosinee (10-1) will host a Level 2 game next Friday, Oct. 29, against No. 4 seed Baraboo, which knocked off another GNC team, Rhinelander, 13-7, on Friday.

Trevor Garski threw for 178 yards and five touchdowns, three to Keagan Jirschele and two to Davin Stoffel.

Wyatt Harris added an interception return for a score and Eli Miland kicked a short field goal to finish off the scoring for the Indians.

Mosinee’s defense pitched a shutout until Hayward/Lac Courte Oreilles scored with five seconds left in the contest.
