STEVENS POINT LEGION BASEBALL SHUTS OUT D.C. EVEREST

WESTON – Josh Opiola tossed a three-hit shutout to lead the Stevens Point Post 6 American Legion baseball team to a 2-0 win over D.C. Everest on Thursday night at Simon Field.

Deacon Koback and Asher Jordan each had RBI doubles in the top of the first inning and that was all Opiola needed as he finished with nine strikeouts without a walk.

Jordan finished with two hits for the Sixers (3-2), who had seven in all.

Stevens Point plays De Pere at the Wisconsin Rapids Rangers Tournament on Friday. The tournament will be carried live throughout the weekend on zaleskisports.com.
