SPENCER BASEBALL SLIPS PAST NEILLSVILLE IN NINE INNINGS

SPENCER – Spencer blew a six-run lead but was able to pull out an extra-inning victory, defeating Neillsville 11-10 in nine innings in a wild Cloverbelt Conference East Division baseball game Tuesday at Spencer High School.


Spencer led 9-3 after an eight-run third inning only to see Neillsville rally with three runs in both the sixth and seventh innings to force extras.


Following a scoreless eighth inning, the Warriors plated a run in the top of ninth when Gunnar Barth scored on an error, Spencer’s seventh of the game.


The Rockets were able to regroup and scored twice on a single by Madden Prybylski and a double by Kaiden Miller to earn the walk-off win.


Prybylski finished 4-for-5 with three RBI and Miller was 3-for-6 with the game-winning RBI for Spencer (6-12, 5-5 Cloverbelt East).


Sam Hayes had two hits and two RBI, and Santana Subke had two hits and an RBI, and both scored three runs each for Neillsville (4-8, 4-6 Cloverbelt East).


Spencer plays at Athens, and Neillsville will host Marathon in nonconference games on Thursday.
