PORT EDWARDS GIRLS BASKETBALL COMES BACK TO DEFEAT BOWLER

BOWLER – The Port Edwards girls basketball dominated the end of first half and start of the second to defeat Bowler 51-41 in a nonconference game Tuesday at Bowler High School.


Bowler led 21-11 before Port Edwards buckled down and finished the half on a 14-2 run to take a two-point lead into intermission.


The Blackhawks (3-13) quickly extended the lead at the start of the second half with a 13-2 run and was able to hold on from there.


Taylor Martin went 15-for-17 from the free throw line and scored 29 points for Port Edwards.


Port Edwards plays a Central Wisconsin Conference South Division game at Rosholt on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
