PITTSVILLE VOLLEYBALL UPSETS WILD ROSE

WILD ROSE – The Pittsville volleyball team pulled off a big upset in the Central Wisconsin Conference South Division, knocking off unbeaten Wild Rose on the road, 3-2, on Thursday night at Wild Rose High School.
With the win, the Panthers improve to 3-2 in CWC South play heading into a home match Tuesday against Port Edwards.
Pittsville won 18-25, 25-8, 25-22, 23-25, 15-11.
Julia Redmond had 21 kills and 22 digs, Josie Buchli had 29 digs, and Helen Durrant had 32 assists for Pittsville. Cammie Reno added nine kills, and Reno and Durrant each had four service aces in the win.
“We finally played a team game,” Pittsville coach Buff Heller said. “Everyone was giving 100 percent. It took all we had to win in five. Every time out we are seeing improvement and confidence.”
