PACELLI GIRLS BASKETBALL HOLDS OFF ALMOND-BANCROFT

ALMOND – The Stevens Point Pacelli girls basketball team needed a win to stay in the Central Wisconsin Conference South Division title chase and it got it with a hard-fought 29-25 victory over Almond-Bancroft on Friday night at Almond-Bancroft High School.
Amelia Jacoby scored nine points and Anna Van Order added eight for the Cardinals, who improve to 13-8 overall and 10-1 in the CWC South. Pacelli remains one game behind first-place Wild Rose with one game remaining – a rematch with the Wildcats at Pacelli on Thursday.
Lexie Dernbach led Almond-Bancroft (13-9, 7-5 CWC South) with eight points.
Pacelli hosts Menominee Indian for a nonconference game on Tuesday prior to the showdown for first place against Wild Rose. Thursday’s game will be broadcast live at zaleskisports.com.
